Medina Abdi, LSWIAC
Clinical Social Worker

Hello and Welcome!
I am a Seattle based mental health therapist passionate about working with teenagers and young adults. I work with teenagers and young adults because I think it is a really important period to develop identity, values and outlook. I appreciate being to explore life, friends, family, self image, systemic issues, mental health and anything else with my clients.

I have a masters degree in Social Work from Syracuse University in 2017.
I have really enjoyed the opportunity to work with young people in youth shelters, college, high school, and outpatient clinics. I am especially passionate in support young People of Color.
Outside of therapy I am probably knitting, baking, watching cartoons or enjoying as much time in the sun as possible.

I believe the foundation of therapy is built on a trusting and positive relationship between the client and therapist. I am grateful to be able partner with my clients to create a space that feels safe and helpful to them. I believe therapy should be a space for people to feel comfortable and safe exploring their thoughts and beliefs and gain a better understanding of themselves to move toward their goals.
I have studied Feminist, Psychodynamic and Cognitive theories and incorporate them into my work. Mainly, I try to understand where my client is coming from and what they may need to help toward their goals and feel more at peace with themselves.

Therapy can be a wonderful journey and I praise anyone seeking growth. If you are interested in working together, we may meet for a free 30 minute meet and greet session to assure we are a good fit.
I am currently only offering virtual sessions.
I offer a sliding scale rate from $110-$150 for a 55 minute session.
I am NOT currently accepting insurance, however I can provide clients with a Superbill, an invoice to give to your insurance company for reimbursement for out of network providers. If interested, I suggest you contact your insurance company to ask about the following things:
Does my insurance plan cover out of network providers?
What is the reimbursement rate for teletherapy (code 90834)?
Does my insurance plan reimburse associate level clinicians (LSWAIC)?
